Volunteer Work Day, Part 2, Sunday, April 22 |

Due to ongoing interior clubhouse renovations which are completing this week, we were not able to clean the interior clubhouse as we had planned on Spring Workday, April 15. I am asking for volunteers to clean the interior of the clubhouse on Sunday, April 22 at noon. Lots of dust and needs a good cleaning!

Spring Workday April 15, 2012
The clubhouse has undergone an extreme makeover. We have a badly needed new roof with an updated look. As you can see, the 1980‘s skylight is gone as well as the fireplace. We have improved the entryway. All of these repairs and improvements while costing about $17,000, also left a construction mess. While the crews cleaned up most of the debris, some screws, nails, metal, wood, stone and broken glass will need your scouring eyes to make the pool safe for our little ones. We need air blowers for the outside cleaning. Bring your work gloves and any other work tools that you may use.
We also need to do our usual maintenance. Some of these projects include:
-
Clean light fixtures on upper and lower balcony and replace bad socket and bulbs,
-
Clean pump room,
-
Clean clubhouse windows, furniture and carpet,
-
Clean pool furniture and place around pool,
-
Spray all locks and gates with dry lube,
-
Flush outside sewer drain pipe with hose,
-
Caulk balcony,
-
Wash trash cans,
-
Clean construction debris from concrete surfaces,
We have many projects that will need many volunteers. Any time you can donate, even a small amount, will be greatly appreciated. Your time is valuable and we value your time.
Volunteers allow Legend Hills Homeowners’ Association (LHHA) to save thousands of dollars each year that would otherwise be used for maintenance and administrative costs.
We hope to see you on Sunday, 15 April at Noon.
Snacks will be provided so we need a headcount to better prepare. Please respond to this email if you will be volunteering.
If you are unable to be with us but would like to volunteer to do a project at another time, call James Thomas (698-2388).

As some of you have noticed, the Legend Hills clubhouse is getting a make-over. The new roof is necessary due to failure of our 27 year old roof. The new roof should last over 50 years. We also removed the large skylight that faced north. It was the source of repeated water leaks. Due to the construction, we have delayed the opening of the pool. We will have nails, screws, small pieces of broken glass and small pieces of sharp metal and wood that must be thoroughly cleaned before we can open the pool.
The earliest that we can have a good Volunteer Workday is the weekend of April 14/15. This will allow us to open after Workday. In order to avoid possible additional construction on Saturday, we will have Volunteer Workday on Sunday, April 15, Noon to 4 PM. The following weekend is Fiesta. Yes, I know, that is tax weekend. So finish your taxes early or take a break and come help. Snacks will be provided.
We will need a lot of cleanup, placing pool furniture, landscape trimming and other jobs to ready our facilities for the season. Please let us know if you can come for any part of the time. If you are unable to make the Workday but wish to do a job, let us know. Several people in the past have volunteered before or after Workdays. Volunteers make the clubhouse and recreation area work. Without you we could not afford the maintenance. The Legend Hills Board of Directors appreciates those who volunteer their precious time for their community!!

This message is from the Crownridge Board.
The CB Fence project is starting to wind down. A final walk through is being scheduled for this week. Several members have asked about clean up. We have asked the fence contractor to centralize the excess stone and soil and clean up as much as possible. The excess stone and soil will be utilized for an additional enhancement at the intersection of Camp Bullis and Summer Oaks. Several members expressed concerns about this area at the annual meeting and both the board members and the fence committee have met with the contractor to discuss options.
Many thanks to the fence committee for all of their work over the past three, yes three years to complete this project! |
